Just Betty

When I am happy with what I am eating, my tail(bone) wiggles!
I am not a food critique, I believe that taste in food is highly subjective, and I just want to share mine. Ü

14 Four Cafe, Taytay Ω

Above photo taken from 14Four's Facebook page

I had my birthday salubong with the Sundae group here at 14Four Cafe
because I felt like celebrating in a garden setting.

That's the doorbell sign..

The gate..

There are seats behind this partition.

The seats behind the partition..

That's a furniture shop beyond the glass doors.

Other seats outside..

Some of the seats inside..

I like mix and match chairs / sofas.

Our reserved seat:

View from my seat.

The paddle art on the kitchen door window.

And what the kitchen served us.
Smoked Fish Pate P130
cream cheese, spies, tortilla chips

Loaded Mashed potatoes P75
with bacon, cheddar cheese and garlic sauce

This was not creamy enough for me.

Sesame Crusted Dory P195
Herb aioli, steamed rice, cucumber salad

Two of this-

14Four Tapa P210
garlic rice, fried egg

Some spaghetti for tradition-
Aligue & Tuyo P230
Creamy aligue sauce, tuyo flakes, hint of citrus

Carbonara P230
creamy garlic sauce, maple bacon

And when we asked what their soup of the day was,
it was pumpkin soup! P85

Water bottle.

Their daily selection of dessert available was only this.
Chocolate cupcake P45 each
It was moist and not too sweet.

I just want to share the art inside their restroom:
It's like looking at a mirror.

Taste lies in the mouth of the beholder.

Disclaimer: I don't think that this establishment serves bad food,
their dishes just did not make my tail wiggle.

Maimee's Garden Cafe, San Juan

Celebrated my birthday salubong dinner at Maimee's last September 2012.

I like intimate places like this.

 First up:
Roasted Pumpkin soup P100
This is less thick than the usual but one of the good ones I've tasted.

Chicken Cordon Bleu P260
One of the best sellers, we had 3 of this
but only because the late comers didn't know we already ordered it.

Herb Pan-fried fish P285
Attacked by my hungry guests before I could get a photo.

Maimee's Kare-kare P370
1st runner up for the wiggle award. ღ

Grilled Pork Belly P280
The meat was easy to cut and bite plus the flavor was not too sweet nor bland.

Best for a date place.
