Just Betty

When I am happy with what I am eating, my tail(bone) wiggles!
I am not a food critique, I believe that taste in food is highly subjective, and I just want to share mine. Ü

Melo's Home of Certified Angus Beef, Burgos Circle

Arlene and I tried Melo's on November 28, 2013.

Their al fresco area.

Inside..

Our seat.

Beside the bar..

We were served 2 of this each for starters.

We ordered some appetizers:
Shrimp Cocktail P388
[Receipt shows this is P390]

Because she liked the shrimp cocktails from her home.
This was nothing like it and the shrimps were too small - she said.

We also ordered this because she loved the version of this from where she lives.
Crab Cake P288
[Receipt shows this is P380]

It's not the same. - she said.

Our main dishes:
Chilean Seabass Filet P1,280
[Receipt shows this is P1,180]

It was too dry for me.

The promo they had on the board outside:
Australian Wagyu Steak P899

We asked it to be cooked medium rare.

But it was too rare..
So we had it cooked to medium well, now it tasted better.

Learn how you like your steak to be cooked from Melo's

Our main orders came with their soup of the day.
Pumpkin and Crab&Corn soups.

I was not impressed with our orders,
and with how much each costs, I was disappointed.

For Christmas month, whenpigswiggle will light up the season
by sharing light food posts. ;)
Above photo taken from Stella's Facebook page

After our Cue Modern Barbecue dinner,
Bcrew had drinks and dessert at Stella.

They had drinks, I had dessert.

Crema Catalana P195
Stella's version of the Classic Spanish dessert.

What classic spanish dessert that is..
..either (Leche) Flan or Crème Brulée.

A friend of mine, that didn't drink as well,
pondered on that while we finished this off.

Chez Karine Bakery, Serendra

For Christmas month, whenpigswiggle will light up the season
by sharing light food posts. ;)

Above photo taken from their Facebook page

I tried Chez Karine on October 20, 2013.

I was intrigued by the pudding posts I've been seeing in Instagram.

They serve cakes and macarons too.

So I tried this.
Dark Chocolate Macaron P50

And I also tried their pudding.

Vanilla Royal Pudding P100
I would say it's pricey provided that I didn't taste anything extra ordinary.

You get to keep the bottle though.
And if you return 8 bottles, you get free coffee!

Saboten, Serendra Ω

Above photo taken from Saboten's website.

Jen, Drew and I tried Saboten on June 15, 2013.

They just came from a lunch event.
But that doesn't matter.

Jen and I ordered the same thing.
Saboten Special P525

So that we can taste more of what they offer in 1 order.

Here's what Saboten Special consists of:
(aside from the miso soup, rice and cabbage)
 1 Tenderloin Cutlet 30g

1 Lion Cutlet 65g

1 Crab Cream Croquette

And 1 Deep-Fried Shrimp
That's Jen's shrimp with a bite Drew took.
(She's obviously not happy about it.)

Drew and Jen were full.
(See those tummies? Hihi.)

So was I.
(No tummy here. Hihi)

Everything was just ok. I still like Yabu better though.

Taste lies in the mouth of the beholder.

Disclaimer: I don't think that this establishment serves bad food,
their dishes just did not make my tail wiggle.
