Just Betty

When I am happy with what I am eating, my tail(bone) wiggles!
I am not a food critique, I believe that taste in food is highly subjective, and I just want to share mine. Ü

Ginza Bairin, Glorietta Ω

Tin and I tried Ginza Bairin on September 3, 2013.

Because we were curious,

how this place could compete to Yabu.

Their pricing is almost the same too.

They both have the same dikdikan..

We wanted to get to try a little bit of everything
so the very assistive waiter suggested that we share this.
Mixed Set A P425
Rosu, Hire, Prawn.

This comes with unlimited cabbage, rice and miso soup.
Which Tin and I took advantage of.

And order an ala carte of this.
Salmon Katsu P150

It's no Yabu, but we sure got our money's worth
with the waiter suggesting we share the refillable stuff in that Meal set.

Taste lies in the mouth of the beholder.

Disclaimer: I don't think that this establishment serves bad food,
their dishes just did not make my tail wiggle.

Nav Modern Thai Cuisine, Kapitolyo Ω

Darling and I tried Nav on September 2, 2013.

From the inside.

Darling is not fond of Thai food so we had to keep our orders "safe".
Chicken Satay P165
marinated and grilled chicken skewers with 2 sauces

Khao Kluk Kapi P165
Fried rice, shrimp paste (bagoong), sunny side up egg,
sweet pork, green mango

Nav's Thai food wasn't bad, I've had worse.
But also, I've had better. Ü

Brasserie CiÇou, San Juan

I celebrated my birthday with my family at Brasserie CiÇou.

I always reserve seats when I plan celebrations for my birthday.

But this place..

 ..has A LOT of seats.
There are seats behind the curtains there..

And seats behind the pillars here..

And there are still seats at the exit.

So anyway, here are what we had.
Shell shaped butter. Ü --

--To go with their complimentary bread.

Mumsy had this.
Bouillabausse P490
Fish, Prawns, Squid, Clams, Baby potatoes,

Served with..
Croutons, Aioli, Rouille Sauce

They didn't have a name for this dish.
Pan-seared Salmon, Expellette, Wilted Spinach and muchrooms,
mashed potatoes, Buerre Blanc P490

The mashed potato was so creamy!

Ahya had this.

Diya arrived late so he had his own bread.

And ordered this.

Home-made fries, Mesclun Salad

For dessert:
Profiteroles with Cherry Compote P150

And the reason I wanted to try this restaurant:

14 Four Cafe, Taytay Ω

Above photo taken from 14Four's Facebook page

I had my birthday salubong with the Sundae group here at 14Four Cafe
because I felt like celebrating in a garden setting.

That's the doorbell sign..

The gate..

There are seats behind this partition.

The seats behind the partition..

That's a furniture shop beyond the glass doors.

Other seats outside..

Some of the seats inside..

I like mix and match chairs / sofas.

Our reserved seat:

View from my seat.

The paddle art on the kitchen door window.

And what the kitchen served us.
Smoked Fish Pate P130
cream cheese, spies, tortilla chips

Loaded Mashed potatoes P75
with bacon, cheddar cheese and garlic sauce

This was not creamy enough for me.

Sesame Crusted Dory P195
Herb aioli, steamed rice, cucumber salad

Two of this-

14Four Tapa P210
garlic rice, fried egg

Some spaghetti for tradition-
Aligue & Tuyo P230
Creamy aligue sauce, tuyo flakes, hint of citrus

Carbonara P230
creamy garlic sauce, maple bacon

And when we asked what their soup of the day was,
it was pumpkin soup! P85

Water bottle.

Their daily selection of dessert available was only this.
Chocolate cupcake P45 each
It was moist and not too sweet.

I just want to share the art inside their restroom:
It's like looking at a mirror.
